It is not uncommon for a man's penis to curve a bit when it is erect. The degree of the curve varies from man to man, but usually it does not cause any discomfort or interference with sexual activity. If a very pronounced curve occurs, the condition is called Peyronie's disease, named after the French surgeon, Peyronie (1678-1747).
A curved penis often causes embarrassment and is usually painful. Luckily, the majority of cases of Peyronie's disease are generally curable.
Peyronie's disease is characterised by a plaque, or hard lump, that forms on the penis. The disease affects up to 6% of men, with varying degrees of severity. Medical examinations localise a calcification of the connective tissue sheets surrounding the spongiest erectile tissue. This calcification makes the tissue plaque shrink and develop a shorter side compared to the opposite side of the shaft of the penis.
Peyronie's disease begins as a localised inflammation. As the disease progresses, the pain subsides and then fibrous tissue develops, causing the penis to curve to the left, right, upward or downward.
In cases in which the deformity prevents painful erections and difficulty with intercourse, experts claim that no strong evidence shows that any treatment other than surgery or treatment with a traction penis extension device work nearly as effectively. The traction naturally causes the curved part of the penis to straighten. This also increases both the length and girth of the penis.
If your penis is slighlty curved, don't be alarmed, everyone's is to a slight degree. It is to do with the two corpora cavernosa, spongelike parts of the penis, which grow at different rates during your development.
The good news is that all of our penis traction enlargers assist with straightening your penis, whilst also increasing their length and girth.
Straightening the penis, makes it immediately look longer, so the benefit is two fold!
Peyronie's Disease Case Study:
When Menslocker was at the Johannesburg Sexpo is 2011, a lady came up to us and told us a story about her husband. She said that he had developed peyronies disease at the age of 42. A large hard plaque grew on his penis and caused it to start developing a heavy curvature. He ended up having the plaque cut out in a medical procedure. Unfortunately they cut away half of his penis and so although the plaque was removed, he was half his initial length. This was obviously soul destroying for him and had a severe impact on their sex life.
He then started using a penis extender to try get back what he had lost. After about a year, he had managed to double his penis size and is now back to his initial length. His wife told us that they were ecstatic with the results and praised penis extenders. She commended Men's Locker on the service we were providing and said we were really helping many people live better lives.
